Alex Christian - (Irish American) From Baton Rouge, Louisiana - Alex is
a 19-year old young man, average in size, with a youthful innocence about him.

Thelonious - (African American) From Abbeville, Louisiana - Thelo picked
sugar cane in the fields of Louisiana. Thelo is a large man, in his mid to
late 30's, with a hard exterior and a big heart.

Johnny Chavez - (Cuban/Irish American) Originally from Miami,
Florida - Johnny, moved to New Orleans in his teens where he
began a life of two-bit crime.

Reverend Bobby Swift - (African American) From Oakland,
California - Reverend Bobby is the founder of his own self-proclaimed
church, The Tender Healin’ Hands Ministry, and is loade
with flamboyant sarcasm.

Joy - (Asian American) From Baton Rouge, Louisiana - Joy is a
beautiful, 18 year old woman and the fiancé of Alex.

Angel - (African American) From Abbeville, Louisiana - Angel
is a lovely woman in her mid 30's and the wife of Thelonious.

Cecil Bejious DeVille - (Acadianic French American) From Breaux
Bridge, Louisiana - Cecil, a Cajun man in his mid-60's, serves
as the play’s narrator. Cecil is a verbose, expressive storyteller.

Warden Smelling - (Scottish American) From South Bend,
Indiana - During a visit to Fenway Park, the warden was knocked
out by a Mickey Mantle home run. Ever since that time, the short,
quirky Warden Smelling has spoken in pure baseball rhetoric.

Mama Lulu - (Haitian American) From New Orleans, Louisiana - Mama
Lulu, a large, boisterous woman, forecasts the future through the
reading of the cards, becoming Johnny’s unshakable conscience.

Crystal - (Polish American) From New Orleans, Louisiana - Crystal is
the vibrant, exotic dancer girlfriend of Johnny. Working in the French
Quarter of New Orleans, Crystal’s stage name is Cris P. Chicken.

Officer Heller - (German American) From Montgomery, Alabama - Officer
Heller, a large, muscular man, is the prison foreman with a dry,
stoic demeanor..
